Hi from Macquarie Lodge

We had a beautiful start to Winter – lovely warm days and cool evenings, and we are told the weather is about to improve again. It is really not a busy time of the year – so a great time to come and stay.

School’s back next week for Queenslanders, but classes are still out for many of the Southern States – and flights have been very cheap. Pack up the family and escape the Winter blues for some Queensland sunshine.

There is plenty on for families right now. Each weekend (and every day through the holidays) the train is open at the Big Pineapple. It tours all over the property to Koala Station and the animal farm. The Parfait Cafe is open every day and the Saturday grower’s market just gets bigger and bigger.

With free entry for kids, Bindi’s Bootcamp Birthday (July 24) has climbing walls, entertainment, mud animals and police dog squads. Golf, cycling, adventure races and King of the Mountain events are not far away…but most importantly remember Father’s Day on September 2. Grab him a voucher or treat him to a holiday with us!

Specials are on, so come and stay with us for your next holiday.

Noosa Jazz Festival July 31 – August 2

The Noosa Jazz Festival is an iconic Queensland music event, celebrating jazz of all genres, four great days of music, gourmet local food and Spring time weather here in Noosa.

In 2012, the Noosa Jazz Festival will offer a stellar lineup of musicians from all genres of jazz music, from traditional to modern funk and blues, alternate pop and progressive. Headline acts include jazz great Grace Knight and Liam Burrows, who was recently announced Best Jazz Artist at the 2012 MusicOz Award.

Look out for the Tastings on Hastings, the original Noosa long lunch. This event sees Hastings Street turned into a pop-up restaurant for 500 guests, who are wined, dined and entertained by a roving stage of jazz musicians and buskers. This will feature alongside many other much-loved Festival events, including the Legends Lunches, daily jazz river cruises, Jazz in the Woods, large open air concerts, Bicentennial Hall, and small intimate venue performances.

We look forward to seeing you soon on your next holiday.
